Social Recruitment: werk vinden via Twitter
Deze colum verscheen eerder op www.infoworld.nl. Sinds 1994 ben ik online en maak ik gretig gebruik van bijna alle zakelijke mogelijkheden die het internet ons biedt. Sinds 2000 werk ik intensief met social networks. Ze zijn voor mij naast een bron van vermaak ook zakelijk uitermate nuttig gebleken. Onlangs heb ik op het gebied van social media de balans maar weer eens opgemaakt. Waar sta ik zoal ingeschreven en is het bruikbaar voor de zakelijke praktijk of privé? Ai, meer dan 51 social networking sites. Hoog tijd om een paar nutteloze profielen en sites uit mijn lijstje te gooien. De tijd is voorbij dat ik iedere netwerksite wil testen en er op aanwezig wil zijn. De digitale sporen met verouderde profielen gaan we binnenkort maar eens aanpakken. Wat voor mij ooit begon met ICQ is uitgegroeid tot een digitale spaghetti van profielen en sociale media en messengertools. WAYN, Brightkite, VisualCV, Ning, Gist, Doostang, Unyk, Eacademy, Recruitmentblogs, Pipl, Delver, Hi5, Zoominfo, Digg, Magnolia, Delicious, Plurk, Schoolbank, Technorati, Viadeo, Spoke, Pingfm, Joso, Facebook, Spock, Twhirl, Zoodango, Xing, Friendfeed, Marzar, Yorz etc. Ik kom er niet meer doorheen. ING begint met ontslagronde
Langzaam aan komen de ontslagen ook terecht bij Nederlandse bedrijven. ING gaat nu in de US 750 banen schrappen. Op zich valt het nog mee want in de gehele US werken +/- 11000 mensen voor de ING. Wij zijn benieuwd wat de gevolgen op de Nederlandse arbeidsmarkt zijn binnen de muren van de ING
TDK is firing / FusionSearchers is hiring
Japanese electronics component maker TDK Corp. said Thursday it would cut 8,000 workers and post its biggest net loss ever this fiscal year, due to falling orders and a stronger yen. The company — known to consumers for its DVDs, audio tapes and other recording media — will cut the jobs as it closes four factories outside of Japan, said spokesman Kazutoshi Kogure. It seems not even Microsoft is impervious to the effects of this increasingly painful recession. According to reports, the Redmond-based company is preparing to lay off about 17 per cent of its entire workforce in the coming months. Despite its portfolio diversity — including operating systems, antivirus software, and video game consoles — Microsoft is clearly feeling the pressure applied by a tightening global economy.
